Ley 25.871 sets three tiers: permanente (art 22), temporaria (art 23, up to 3 yrs), transitoria (art 24, up to 1 yr, no DNI). The nomad permit is transitoria under art 24 h (DNM Disposición 758/2022). Argentina.gob.ar's official FAQ states PR requires residencia temporaria vigente for 2 yrs (Mercosur) or 3 yrs (others); transitoria is not listed as qualifying — directly stated, not inferred. DNU 366/2025 (2025 migration reform, checked directly) amends arts 20/22/23 but leaves art 24 and this eligibility rule untouched.

    1. Migraciones: who this is open to ↗Two conditions rule most people out before anything else. It is open only to nationals of countries that do not need a visa to enter Argentina as a tourist, and you have to be inside Argentina to file — this is not something you arrange before you travel.
    2. Electronic entry processing for digital nomads ↗The filing itself, done online with the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones. The page says plainly that the process is personal and simple, that no agent is needed, and that the only payments due are the ones the platform itself generates — worth reading as the warning it is.
    3. Migration fee table ↗The fee is not a currency amount. Electronic entry processing for the art. 24(h) subcategories is 80 consular units, and the table notes it is complemented by a separate chargeable consular action.
