BOCA classifies Taiwan's digital nomad visa as a Visitor Visa (boca.gov.tw), which does not carry the ARC (Alien Resident Certificate) residence status required for APRC (Alien Permanent Residence Certificate). The National Immigration Agency's own APRC guidelines page (immigration.gov.tw) states the standard path is 5 consecutive years averaging 183+ days/year on ARC status; foreign specialist professionals - the category Employment Gold Card holders fall under, per the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals - qualify after 3 years, or after just 1 year if earning NTD 6,000,000+/year. That DNV time is excluded is inferred from its visitor-visa classification (not an explicit NIA statement naming the DNV); the Gold Card timelines (5/3/1 years) are stated directly on NIA's own guidelines page.
